At the end of the road less traveled, a new adventure in learning awaits at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Memorial is an extraordinary university in a unique place.

The largest university in Atlantic Canada, Memorial offers more than 100 degree programs to a student population of 17,000.

Students can expand their horizons at one of two campuses in St. John’s, including the Marine Institute, or at the campus in Corner Brook, or in Harlow, England.

Memorial is home to a vibrant and innovative research community. Our researchers are exploring all disciplines in science, medicine, arts, social sciences, engineering, education, and business.

Students

Memorial is the largest university in the region, with 17,500 students engaged in full and part-time studies at under-graduate and graduate levels.

Alumni

Each year, the graduating class numbers in excess of 2,000 students, bringing the total number of alumni to 60,000.

Faculty and Staff

The university employs 950 full-time faculty (and 850 sessional instructors) and 2,300 administrative and support staff, plus 2,000 students in part-time jobs.

More than 100 undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as diplomas and certificate programs are offered through our faculties.

Sept. 1 – Aug. 31; three 14-week semesters; also 6-week inter-session and 6-week summer session.

Research

Memorial conducts award-winning and wide-ranging research. These research efforts are often informed by the mid-North Atlantic location that has shaped our culture and studies.

Student Residence

On-campus housing is available in Paton College or Burton’ s Pond Apartments. Paton College is home to almost 1,000 students, who live in one of ten dormitories on campus. Burton’s Pond Apartments consists of four courts and offers a more independent lifestyle.

Living in Residence also gets you:

• access to the MUNnel System of indoor access
• meal card for use at select campus canteens and the R. Gushue Dining Hall.
